Baby Night Time Essentials

August 28, 2020

If you’re a new mom, you’ve probably noticed that your baby is changing so much as each month passes. You get one routine down, and then your baby changes things up again, requiring you to figure out new solutions and products to keep him/her satisfied.

Ansley just turned 11 months, so I wanted to share some night time products that we are using and loving. Some of these products have been in our routine for a a few months, and some are new to our routine.

My hope is that this helps you as your baby transitions over the months to make your night time routine a bit smoother.

Click the image or text below to shop

JellyCat Bunny: If you’ve never felt a Jellycat stuffed animal, you are missing out! 😉 Ha! But seriously, they are so soft and cozy. We grabbed the 7in Small Bashful Bunny, and it’s the perfect size for night time baby cuddles. We put it in Ansley’s crib for naps and night time (around 10.5 months), so she can self soothe and play.

Wubbanub: Ansley actually refuses to take these as a paci (she only took Mam pacis as a tiny baby), however, these double as a paci and a stuffed animal. We have also been putting these in her crib at night to help self soothe, plus she likes to chew on the paci end for teething.

Nested Bean Sleepsack: This sleep sack has been amazing. We transitioned out of her Merlins Magic Sleep Suit (which we LOVED!) around 6 months, once she could flip in it and moved her to this sleep sack. It has a weighted bean on the front to act as a mother’s touch to add comfort for baby. If your baby is a tummy sleeper, you can flip the sleep sack around, so that the weighted bean is in the back, which is what we do for Ansley. It also acts as a light blanket, since it’s not recommended for babies to have loose blankets in the crib at a young age.

Sposie Overnight Booster Pads: If your baby seems to soak through his/her diaper during the night, these pads are a game changer. After trying so many different things for Ansley, including doubling up on two diapers, switching diaper brands, and going up a size, we finally found a good solution with these pads. We just stick one pad inside her night time diaper, and she no longer soaks through.

Huggies Overnight Diapers: We found that Huggies Overnight Diapers also hold the most during the night. After trying numerous brands of diapers, these have worked best for night time. We also go up a size for night time and add the Sposie pad.

Hatch Sound Machine: If you’re a new mom or a mom looking for a better sound machine, the Hatch has been absolutely amazing. With 11 different sounds and colors, you can choose the best noise, volume and light for your baby to fit his/her schedule and routine. You can customize the settings to your liking and also add to your favorites, so the sound and light go on and off with just one touch on the top ring of the machine. You can control it all from your phone, AND you can control it from the buttons on the bottom of the sound machine for babysitters or family, if you’re not home to control it with you phone. We love this and highly recommend the Hatch!

Baby Toothpaste: If your baby has any teeth, it’s time to start brushing! I recently grabbed this Training Toothpaste for Ansley to try. It is fluoride-free and safe to swallow, which is what I was most comfortable with, since she can’t spit quite yet. We just add a tiny dab to her toothbrush and brush her gums and teeth two times a day.

Giraffe Toothbrush: How cute is this little baby toothbrush? Not only is it effective, but it is also so cute and easy for baby to use. Ansley has actually loved this and chews on it, since it feels good on her gums. It stands perfectly on the counter too!

Smile Frida Finger Toothbrush: If your baby isn’t so fond of the real toothbrush, this finger toothbrush is a good option. Just stick the brush on your finger and scrub away in your babies mouth. Once they get used to this one, he/she will be ready for the real toothbrush in no time!

I know, as a new mom, it can take some time to figure out what works best for your baby at each stage. I know I felt clueless in so many areas and had no idea where to look for help. If that is you, I hope you find this helpful for you and your baby, so that you can both have smoother nights and get some much needed rest:).

Thanks for reading and checking out my post. Please feel free to reach out or comment below with any comments or questions.

Amazon Favorites for a Busy Mom

August 3, 2020

As busy moms on the go, it is so helpful to have the quickest and most effective products to help us on a day to day basis. Whether it is the best traveling pumping and breastfeeding supplies, a portable steamer to get the wrinkles out of our clothes, baby gadgets, or kitchen cleaning supplies, we will usually do whatever it takes to make our lives a little bit easier.

Below I am sharing some items that have helped me significantly as a busy, nursing mom on the go!
(to shop any of the items, you can click the pictures or the links below)

Steamer: I absolutely love this handheld steamer for removing wrinkles from any clothes. Just add water, plug it in, and steam out your wrinkles. It’s perfect for traveling, on the go, or a quick steam before you are running out the door. Bye bye to irons!
Medela Handheld Pump: If you are a nursing or pumping mama, this handheld pump is so helpful. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to pump on the go, in the car, or around the house. As a busy mom, I can’t always be attached to an outlet. I use this handheld pump on one side and my haaka on the other to catch the letdown, and then I switch sides.
Medela Steam Bag: These steam bags are so quick and easy for sterilizing bottle and pump pieces. Each bag can be used up to 20 times. Just pour 2 oz of water and stick it in the microwave to clean. Perfect for at home or traveling!
Medela Wipes: These wipes are also the best for traveling with bottle and pump parts! You don’t even need soap or water. Just wipe your pieces down after use and let them air dry or dry with a towel, and you’re ready to use them again asap!
Sleeping Eye Mask: Raise your hand if you sleep with an eye mask?! If you don’t, I know what you’re thinking. “How could someone sleep with that over his/her face?” I used to think the same thing until I started using this. I sleep so much better with this over my eyes. It blocks all light, is soft and comfortable, and has an adjustable strap for all head sizes. I even got Austin on board. Call us high maintenance sleepers, but I promise it is so worth it ;).
Make Up Wash Cloths: I saw these at my parent’s house in their guest rooms and immediately ordered some for my house. These are great for yourself or a guest room to avoid nasty make up stains on your nice white towels. Plus, they are super cute!

Sassy Stacks of Circles: Love these little stacking rings. They are each a different texture and size, which keeps Ansley constantly entertained. She can shake, teethe, stack and carry them around.
Joovy Walker: This is one of my number one favorites! We started using this around 8 months, and it has kept her occupied longer than any other toy, bouncer, or seat we have tried. She learned to put one foot in front of the other and began learning to walk by using this every day!
Munchin Snack Cups: These are perfect for any baby snacks! We use these for her Happy Baby Puffs especially when we’re on the go. She loves being able to carry this around and feed herself.
Munchin Straw Sippy Cup: Ansley is still learning to suck from this sippy cup, but I have many friends that have highly recommended this one. It has a weight on the bottom of the straw to help keep the straw in the water, two handles on the top, and a cover for the straw.
Baby Portable Fan: This has been one of my top sellers from y’all! It wraps so well around the car seat or stroller. It has 3 power settings for low, medium, and high. It can be recharged with a USB cord and has a great battery life.
Stack Up Cup Toys: I figured we should get Ansley her own cups, since she always loved playing with ours. She loves to teethe on the edges of the cups, and they are also great for stacking.
Sit to Stand Learning Walker: This is so fun! It can be used as a push walker as baby is learning to stand and walk. The front part also can be removed as a separate interactive sing-a-long toy. Ansley loves this!

Magnetic Screen Door: We have had this since we got Millie, and it is perfect for keeping bugs out of the house on the days we want to keep the back door open! It easily tacks onto the outside of the door and has a magnet in the center to automatically close after walking through.
Meyers All Purpose Cleaner: These are some of my favorite cleaning products. Not only do they smell amazing, but they get all dirt, grime, and food stains off of the counter. We use the counter spray constantly, especially after Ansley eats ;).
Weiman Counter Top Spray: This one is also such a great spray! It disinfects, protects and shines the counters (we have Quartz countertops), and smells so fresh!
Weiman Stainless Steel Wipes: Say goodbye to dried food and fingerprints on your refrigerator, microwave, oven, and dishwasher! These work magic to keep your appliances looking fresh and shiny!
Folex Carpet Spot Remover: With a baby, a dog and a white rug, I knew I needed a good stain spray. This one is also MAGIC! Whether it’s red wine, dirt, wet mud, or food, this spot cleaner removes stains right as you spray. It also comes with a cloth and 2 scrub brushes too!

I hope this was helpful for any other busy moms! I know these have been life saving products for me as I am constantly on the move with the baby.

Current Baby Faves (6+ months)

June 10, 2020

I recently did a post on our favorite baby must haves for 0-6 months, but since then we have added a few more faves that I wanted to share. Ansley is now 8.5 months old and on the move. She loves to stand, bounce, and scoot herself around the floor. It has been so helpful to have a few different playful gadgets to rotate between when she’s not on the floor. We have used some of these for months and a few are brand new.

  1. Rainforest Jumperoo: We added this around 6.5 months (could have definitely gotten it sooner). She absolutely loves this. It is great practice for her to stand, and it is also great for her to have the feedback when she jumps. Between the bounce, the hanging birdies, the music and light up features, plus the toys surrounding the seat, she stays pretty occupied in this one!
  2. Pack n Play: We have had this since before Ansley was born. It is perfect for packing up to travel and offers a safe place for baby to sleep while on vacay. We currently use it everyday in our kitchen, so Ansley can hang out and play without Millie (our dog) bothering her. It has wheels and can easily be rolled around the house or taken outside.
  3. Portable Fan: With the Georgia heat, I knew I was going to need a fan for Ansley’s stroller and carseat. This one has been awesome! It easily wraps around the stroller or carseat handle, has a low and high setting, and lasts for a while before needing a recharge. It is also super light weight and easy to bring anywhere on the go!
  4. Ingenuity 2-n-1 Chair: Instead of a highchair, we currently use this feeding chair and love it! We just set it right on the counter while feeding, but it can also be strapped into a kitchen table chair too. The tray is stored underneath the seat and is super easy to clean. I love that this seat grows with your baby. It can be used from the day they start sitting up all the way until they are toddlers, as it turns into a booster seat too. It is also small and lightweight, which makes it easy for traveling!
  5. Nested Bean Sleep Sack: Ansley started using this sleep sack when she turned 6 months, which was about the time she was able to flip over in her Merlin’s Sleep Sack. It took about 5-7 days for her to transition but ever since then she has slept great. The best part about this particular sleep sack is that it has a weighted bean on the front which mimics the mother’s touch on the baby’s belly. If your baby is a back sleeper, it is best to keep the bean on the front. However, Ansley usually ends up on her tummy, so we recently switched the bean to her back, and she has slept even better! This sack allows baby’s arms to be free and also acts as a blanket for their legs to stay warm.
  6. Boppy Pillow and Case: This is something that we have used from the very beginning. As a newborn into the first couple months of life, it was great for nursing. (As she has gotten bigger, I just use a smaller pillow to nurse). Since she started to sit up, the boppy has been an amazing support to place around her back, so she won’t topple over. You can also use it on the baby’s chest to add support for tummy time. This is a must in my opinion!
  7. Kick n Play Piano Gym: We definitely should have gotten this one sooner. It has so many features and definitely grows with your baby. When your baby is laying down, she can kick the piano and also play with the hanging toys. You can also rotate the piano, so that your baby can hit the piano with her hands, once she is able to sit up. Ansley and I both love that the piano sings and lights up on it’s own to keep her occupied!
  8. Joovy Walker: This is our newest addition, and we are loving it so far. Ansley loves to stand, and I figured this would be a fun way for her to be independent and also practice walking. You can adjust the walker to 3 different positions depending on your baby’s height, and it is also collapsable for easy storage and traveling! The tray is removable and dishwasher safe, and the seat is removable and can be thrown in the washing machine for easy clean up. Loving this so far!

These items have all been so helpful for us as Ansley grows and explores the world around her. I hope this was also helpful for you if you’re looking for some new items for your little one:)

I have linked everything in the pictures below for you to shop! Would love to hear if you grab anything or what your little one is loving right now in the comments below!

As always, feel free to reach out for any questions and head to my instagram to follow along with our journey!

Baby Must Haves | first 6 months

April 20, 2020

I know when I was pregnant and even to this day, I have kind of had to learn as I go, ask a ton of questions to other moms, and read a lot! I hope this serves as a helpful tool if you are pregnant or have a little one and takes some of the work off your plate. We have enough going on as new mommas, so I want to help in any way possible!

Ansley’s Favorite Baby Items

Now that Ansley is almost 7 months (brb crying!), I thought I would share some of our favorite items from the first 6 months of her life. FYI, it’s a long one, but feel free to skip to the areas that may apply to you. I’ve included big baby must have’s, baby accessories, toys, and breastfeeding/bottle must haves. These have been our favorite items along the way!
*Details below as well as links/pictures to shop*.
Enjoy:)

Big Baby Musts (first 6 months)

Uppa Baby Vista Stroller/Bassinet and Uppa Baby Mesa Carseat– After doing a lot of research and asking around to my mama friends, we decided on the Vista stroller/bassinet and Mesa car seat. The Vista caught my attention especially because it grows with you as you grow your family. You can attach an extra car seat or toddler seat when you have more than one child, that way you don’t have to buy an extra stroller. I love that the stroller provides a smooth ride for baby and easily rolls and turns with one hand for mama/dad. It is extremely sleek and not too bulky. The basket underneath is such a great size. You don’t even need a buggy when you go to Target ;). We also went with the Uppa Baby Mesa Car seat which easily attaches to the stroller and the car seat base in your car. The car seat is suitable for babies 4-35lbs and up to 32in in height. The headrest also provides extreme support for any side impact collision. We went with the Bryce (white) stroller/bassinet combo and Jordan (Charcoal Grey) car seat—glad we didn’t go with white for the car seat due to blowouts ;). The bassinet also comes with the stroller and is great for walks with baby and/or naps and nighttime sleeping. We used ours mostly for walks around the neighborhood and sleeping while out at playdates.

Carseat/NursingCover– This carseat/nursing cover is a must in my opinion. I mostly have used it to keep distractions at a minimum when we are out and about, so Ansley would sleep (ex: at the gym, store, running errands). It’s also helpful for windy days. If you plan to nurse on the go, it is also helpful to keep the girls covered;).

Baby Bjorn Bouncer– This seat has been super helpful for us. I typically keep this one upstairs near my bathroom to keep Ansley bouncing, while I shower or get ready. It is also great to fold down and bring on the go. Whether you’re going to a mom’s play date or traveling, it folds up really easily. I recommend getting a less expensive toy bar to attach to it like this one. I don’t personally have it, but wish we would have had one.

Mamaroo– We have enjoyed having this downstairs to keep Ansley swinging, while we cook dinner or clean up the kitchen. She would fall asleep in here a lot as a newborn, and now she enjoys reaching for the toys. If this is out of your price range, I would go for something like this swing. My mom has one like this at her house, and Ansley likes it just as much, if not more.

Aden + Anais Velcro Swaddles (0-3mo)- These swaddles were a must for us from when she was born until about 3 months old. So much easier to use than a regular swaddle blanket, especially for middle of the night diaper changes. As soon as she started to break out or roll, we switched her to the Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit.

Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit (3-6mo)- Like I mentioned above, once Ansley started to roll and break out of her swaddles, we switched to the Merlin’s. We LOVE this! It was such an easy transition. It keeps her feeling secure like a swaddle, but her arms and legs are not as contained. Once she rolled in this (6 months), we switched to the Nested Bean Sleep Sack.

Boppy Lounger– This was by far one of my best, most used items from when she was born up until probably 4-5 months. We would set this on the counter (never unattended), and she would sleep as a newborn, while I got things done. As she grew, she would just chill in this with toys on the counter until she became more mobile rolling and sitting up. The regular Boppy pillow is also a top recommended product for nursing and support once baby starts to sit up.

Baby Tub– We love this tub. We’ve used it from the time we brought Ansley home from the hospital and still use it at 6 months.

Ubbi Diaper Pail– I have really enjoyed this diaper pail. The top slides open for diapers and keeps the stinky smell contained, so the nursery doesn’t smell bad. It comes in so many colors, and you can also use regular trash bags with this pail, so you don’t have to spend money on special diaper pail trash bags.

Freshly Picked Diaper Bag– I have been extremely happy with this diaper bag. It is very sleek and neutral (great for dad to carry too), comes in many colors and a smaller size as well. It can be worn as a back pack or a crossbody bag. It is a wipeable material and has so many pouches and zipper pockets for not only baby items, but also mom items too (like gum, keys, phone, etc). Two of my favorite parts of this diaper bag is the washable changing pad liner that comes inside and also the insulated bottle pouch to keep your bottles cool.

Hatch Sound Machine– This is an absolute MUST in my opinion. We even kept it in our room before Ansley was born. It has many different sound features (white noise, birds chirping, twinkle twinkle little star, etc) as well as different color night light/lamp settings. We keep ours on white noise, while she sleeps and also use the white light before bed and slowly dim it as she settles down and falls asleep. The sound is also great on this. Oh and best part, you can control it from the app on your phone. It also has controls on the bottom of the sound machine too if you’re not able to use your phone (babysitters, etc).

Hushh Portable Sound Machine– Another favorite! No joke, we have used this thing constantly. We bring it to the gym, road trips, even set it by her if she was napping on her boppy lounger as a baby. It slides right between her leg and the inside of the carseat too. It also stays charged for a long time and helps her sleep on the go and blocks other noise around her. Even if she isn’t sleeping, it helps calm her down.

Sit Me Up Chair– We got this chair probably around 3.5-4 months, as she was able to hold her head up and starting to sit up with assistance. I love that this is multipurpose. It can be used as a play seat with the toy bar or you can remove the toy bar and use the tray for feeding. You can also remove the tray completely for washing. The seat itself also comes out and can easily be thrown in the washing machine (food or blowouts). I also have the Ingenuity 2-1 seat for feeding, since we don’t have a highchair yet, and it works really well too. We keep it on the counter for now.

Monitor– If you notice, I actually didn’t include our monitor on here. Obviously it IS a must have, but I have mixed feelings about monitors. I will say, overall, I have been very happy with our monitor. We have the Halo+. It is pricey. It does have a ton of features, but to be honest, we haven’t used many of them. The battery life is very good. I usually only charge it at night. The part that really stuck out to me with this monitor when registering was that it had the option to use a handheld monitor screen AND access from your phone. However, from my experience, the camera on the phone has a terrible connection, so I just use the monitor screen. We actually moved one of our Wyze Camera’s (originally for the dog) in her room, and it is SO clear. I can see her breathing (plus its SO cheap). I occasionally check this one as a back up. The one downside of the Halo+ is that the camera doesn’t rotate. We purchased the Infant Optics Monitor to keep at my parent’s house which was also highly recommended and is less expensive. This one does not have the phone camera option (some people prefer that anyways). I can tell the quality isn’t as nice as the Halo+, but it does have the option to move/rotate the camera from the monitor screen. I know finding a monitor was a struggle for me, so hopefully this helps narrow down a few options if you’re searching for one! I think both are great options depending on your preferences.

Baby Accessories

Wipe Dispenser– This is one of those things that is just an added helpful accessory. For me, it has been super helpful because it is annoying and difficult to pull out one wipe at a time while changing a diaper without all of the wipes coming out. This dispenser has an easy push button on top to open/close and also includes a weighed holder inside to allow one wipe to come out at a time! Diaper changing game changer!

Boogie Wipes– If you don’t prefer to squirt saline up your baby’s nose, these natural saline wipes are helpful to clean her nose without being super invasive to get any boogies or crusties out.

Aveeno Baby Body Wash/Lotion– I have found that this is the softest lotion and body wash for Ansley’s dry skin and smells great too! I also love Noodle and Boo baby lotion. It smells amazing, but the Aveeno seems to leave her skin a bit softer.

Dreft Detergent and Stain Spray– We love both of these products. I got a pack of 2 of the laundry detergents, and it has lasted me 6 months even doing laundry just about every day or every couple days. The stain spray is amazing too! You will need a lot of that too ;). Not to mention, it smells like a soft little baby.

Changing Pad Liners– I keep one of these on top of my changing pad cover at all times (on the wipeable side, so it won’t stain). This is awesome, so you don’t have to wash the changing pad cover constantly. It is also great for throwing in a bag for traveling and changing diapers on the go.

Mustela Lotion (good for baby acne)- I have the Mustela Cleansing Water, soap, and lotion. We use the cleansing water for quick clean ups around face/neck area when we don’t give a bath. The cleansing water and lotion are also great for baby acne and dry skin. We recently got the Mustela Soap and use it with this Cradle Cap scrubber in the bath on her scalp.

Stroller Cup Holder/Pouch– This is a game changer for the stroller (any stroller for that matter). It just velcros onto the handles, holds big cups, keys, phones, etc. It also has a zipper pouch for any items you don’t want to fall out.

Car Seat Mirror– I was terrified to drive with Ansley the first month of her life. Having this mirror on the back seat eased my anxiety so much, so that I could see her while driving.

Desitin Diaper Rash Cream– We used this for diaper rashes (we also use A&D..I honestly haven’t seen a huge difference in the two). It even works for the creases that you may forgot about that develop a rash (armpits, neck folds, thigh creases, etc).

Baby Bum Applicator– This may seem a little “extra” for some people, but let me tell you, it is so helpful to not have to get buttery diaper cream on your fingers when you’re changing a diaper. Not to mention, you don’t want to leave your baby on the changing table to go wash your hands after applying the cream. This applicator is so easy and helpful to use and the cream goes on very smoothly. You can easily wipe the applicator off with soap or a tissue after use instead of your hands ;).

Essential’s Kit– The main thing that we use in here are the nail clippers, but it includes a lot of items that are helpful to have on hand like a baby thermometer.

Baby Toys

Piano Play Mat– Wishing I would have gotten this sooner. We just got it at 6 months, and Ansley loves it! You can use it from newborn on, since the baby can lay down and kick the piano or sit up and hit the piano with their hands. It is very interactive due to its light up and singalong features and is also very easy to move from room to room.

Light Bar Activity Station– This is another item that I wish we would have gotten sooner. It is also very interactive due to its lightup and singalong features.

Sassy Ring-o-links– These are probably are most used, especially for on the go. We attach these to our stroller bar, baby bjorn, mamaroo, etc. You can link them onto anything and the baby can also use them for teething.

Teething Keys– My mom bought these for Ansley to keep at her house and she loves them. They can go in the freezer, so she can suck on them cold to help with teething. They are easy to hold while sucking.

Silicone Teether with Bristles– Ansley loves the ridges on this teething ring. She seems to be able to hold and chew this one super well too, and it is very bendable as well.

Baby Einstein Light Up Musical Toy– Another great light up/musical toy that I wish we would have gotten sooner. It is also easy to grab and the circular button in the middle sings a new song every time you touch it, which keeps baby very entertained.

Donut Play Mat– I loved this one because it matched Ansley’s nursery really well and is just adorable. I set her down on this mat while I am doing things in her nursery like putting away her clothes. She loves pulling on the toys and rolling around on this mat.

Milk Musts (breast & bottle feeding supplies)

Haaka– If you plan to breastfeed, this is a must, especially in the early days of birth. I would use this on the opposite side that she was nursing to catch the letdown and then switch sides. (It is a lot easier to use early on when she can’t kick it or pull it off). I never had to use my pump until after she was one month old. I would just freeze the milk from the haaka and save that, since we weren’t bottle feeding at that point. (On that note, I recommend introducing bottles around one-two months, once a week or once every couple weeks, if you are nursing. That way, they learn to take a bottle, yet it’s not too early to cause nipple confusion). Now, I use the haaka on one side, while I use the manual pump on the other if I need to quickly pump out milk and don’t want to get out my big pump. Lastly, when you start to cut night feeds, the haaka is helpful to use again while nursing in the morning to catch the letdown after being engorged all the night. This releases milk without signaling your body to produce as much as a pump.

Manual Pump– Having a manual pump is very helpful for quick pumping sessions if you don’t have time to pull out your big pump or if you’re on the go (you don’t need a plug). I have used this in the car and in the middle of the night if she only feeds from one side at a time. I would quickly pump out the other side to avoid engorgement or being lopsided.

Nursing Pads– These are 100% a must, especially in the early days. I still use them to this day just to be safe. No one ever told me how much my boobs would leak once my milk came in and in the months to come while nursing (sorry if that’s TMI, but I would rather know before than not know until it happens). These disposable ones are extremely absorbent and also stick to your bra to stay in place. I also have washable nursing pads (good to have as back up if you run out of the disposable pads).

Sterilizing Bottle Bags– Easy and quick way to sterilize your bottle/pump parts at home or on the go. Just need water and a microwave.

Bottle Scrub Brush– I use this separate bottle scrub brush for baby items to avoid any cross contamination. The bottom piece also comes out to thoroughly clean the nipples of the bottles.

Bottle Cleaning Wipes– These are great for cleaning bottle and pump parts while traveling or on the go if you don’t have access to soap and scrub brush.

Bottle Drying Rack– I have this in white and it is perfect to keep on the counter while your bottle/pumping parts dry (also works really well for wine glasses ;)).

Baby Bottle & Dish Soap– I have always used this dish soap for bottles, pacis, etc. It thoroughly removes any residue from breast milk or formula, is hypoallergenic, pediatrician and dermatologist recommended.

Breastmilk Storage Bags– These are the only breast milk storage bags I have ever used and have been pretty happy with them. I have had a few random leaks, which is probably bound to happen a few times (can always double bag). I just recommend freezing all bags the same way, either all lying flat or all standing up for easier storage.

Nipple Cream– This was helpful in the early days when my milk came in and my nipples were just getting used to breastfeeding. I put it on right after feeding (never before). If you choose not to get cream, you can always rub your remaining breastmilk on your nipples.

Nursing/Pumping Bra– Wish I would have ordered this from the beginning! This is a nursing and pumping bra in one. Let me tell you, having to change from nursing bra into a separate pumping bra is quite annoying. This one is two in one and not to mention, it is extremely comfortable and fits very well!

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading :). I hope this has been helpful for you! Keep up the great work, mama! You are not alone, and you’re doing a great job in case you haven’t heard that in a while.
As always, I greatly appreciate when you shop through my links. I allows me to continue sharing even more information with all of you:).

Organization Tips

March 19, 2020

Whether you consider yourself a messy person or a pretty organized person, sometimes we all need a little refresh in the little areas in our lives like our bathrooms, kitchens, closet, etc! Personally, it stresses me out when things get messy and disorganized, so it helps to start fresh.

A lot of times, this means getting rid of stuff that you haven’t used in a while. (It’s okay, you will be okay…you can throw it away!! You can also give to Goodwill!) It could be clothing items that need to be given away, or it could be old make up that you thought you would use but haven’t touched in months. Other times, you need to take everything out of a scattered drawer and put it into categories to see what you actually have before you buy more.

Below I am sharing some of my tips and organizational pieces to help you in different parts of your house.

Bathroom Storage

  • under bathroom sink
  • bathroom drawer

This pullout drawer system on the left is so helpful for bathroom cabinets. I keep hair accessories in the bottom (I have added tiny organizers inside the drawer to separate hair ties from clips) and taller items, like face wash, hair spray, and dry shampoo, on the top. Both drawers easily pull out, so you can grab what you need! These two drawers are stackable, so you can use them how I have shown or keep them separated/side by side.

The picture on the right shows one of the drawers in my bathroom. I use acrylic organizers to separate things like make up, nail polish, moisturizers, brushes and more. This allows me to see what I have and stay organized. (Secret tip: if you have any candles that are burnt out, you can stick them in the freezer and after the wax is frozen, cut it out and stick it in the dishwasher. After it’s all clean, you have a pretty jar to hold things like q-tips, cotton balls, or even use as a cocktail glass!)

Kitchen Organization

Personally, my kitchen drawers are so large that things would easily get shuffled around and mix-matched. Having these dividers/organizers inside of the drawer help so much with keeping everything in it’s proper place as well as making it easy to see. (Ideally, I would love each container to match, but if you are trying to save money, try to use what you may already have on hand). If you’re looking to grab some new ones, I have linked some below.

The drawer on the right is where we keep pot holders and dish towels. Nothing super crazy here, I just try to keep these as neat as possible by putting these items back in the proper place after use.

Underneath my cabinets, I use dividers to separate pots, pans, pyrex dishes, sheet pans, cutting boards and more! These dividers are so helpful with saving space and easily grabbing what you need while cooking!
Highly recommend!

Storage Closet

We have a small storage closet downstairs next to our kitchen that became very junky and needed a refresh. I grabbed this cube shelf organizer (which is also in Ansley’s closet turned on it’s side with pink cubes). It is SO helpful for storing things that we need to grab on a regular basis or things that didn’t have a home.

We keep things like medicine, light bulbs, dog treats, cleaning supplies, bottles, breast milk supplies and more in the cubes! Each bin is a different category. This makes it easy to grab but keeps things hidden at the same time. You can also use cubes in every slot to keep everything hidden as well!

Sometimes it can feel overwhelming when it comes to organizing. I recommend starting with one space in your house that you use on a regular basis. Ask yourself if you still use certain products, if it brings you joy, and then separate your items into categories. Once you have decluttered, you can then use containers and even labels to help you stay organized. One helpful tip: put things back where they go after each use, and you will save yourself a headache in the long run ;).

Hopefully seeing these few areas in my house has helped you find new ways to organize or even just motivate you to organize areas in your own home!

Nursery Reveal

November 13, 2019

When we first moved into our house in May 2018, this room was an office. We knew eventually we would turn it into a nursery, so once we found out we were pregnant, we cleared out the office and started our vision for the nursery.

We waited to even begin decorating or shopping for the nursery until after we found out the gender (at 20 weeks). I started looking at Pinterest, Instagram, and certain websites to get some inspiration.

I knew I wanted something neutral yet elegant with pops of pink. Decorating any room can be overwhelming, so we figured the best place to start was the furniture, specifically, the crib and dresser. I thought I wanted just a simple white crib, but when my mom and I walked into Restoration Hardware, I completely fell in love with their nursery collection. Since it was a bit of a splurge, we decided on 3 pieces, the crib, dresser, and chandelier. (The bedding is also from RH, but we registered for the crib skirt, sheets, and pillow). We were able to find mostly everything else in local stores for a great price.

I am unable to link some of these items, but I hope this serves as inspiration and a basic guide if you are also decorating a nursery (or any room for the matter).
